Why
is Smart Buy less expensive on a monthly basis?
A.
It's
no secret that cars are a depreciating asset. Smart Buys allow you
to pay for the portion of the car's life when you're driving
it. For example, with a 39-month Smart Buy, you're only paying for
the first 39 months of the car's life.
Q.
What
if I put more mileage on my car than I'm supposed to?
A.
If this is a concern, you might want to think about buying additional
mileage up front. If you choose this option, you'll pay less
per mile than if you go over your mileage allotment at the end
of your Smart Buy.
Q.
What would happen if I wanted to turn
my car in early?
A.
This
happens from time to time. However, there are some additional
fees that you may have to pay for returning the car before the
Smart Buy term expires. Check with a sales consultant for details.
Q.
If
I Smart Buy a Saturn, what expenses am I responsible for during
the Smart Buy?
A.
In addition to your monthly payment, you're responsible for
paying the insurance premiums, ongoing maintenance costs, vehicle
registration fees, repair costs for damage, and any fees for late payments. These expenses
aren't included as part of the Smart Buy. You'll also have to pay
for inspections and any
traffic tickets.
Q.
What
expenses will I have to pay at the end of the Smart Buy?
A.
At
the end of the Smart Buy, if you don't buy the vehicle, you may
have to pay a disposition fee as well as any charges for excess
miles or excess wear on the vehicle.
Q.
What
is a disposition fee?
A.
A disposition fee (also known as a disposal fee) is a fee that
may be charged by the bank or financial institution at the end
of the Smart Buy to help cover the cost of preparing and selling
the vehicle.
